Casey's
"I'm Loving It..."

Back to Teen Scene July, 2001

Pleated minis. Just like one in a school uniform, but shorter in a basic color like gray or navy blue. Wear it cute and girlie with a pastel tee, denim jacket, and slides; men's-style with an oversize sweater and tie (add something feminine, like heels); preppy-chic with a RL oxford or old Lacoste tee and boots. Be creative and make up something new and "you."

Low-riding hipsters. The darker the color, the dressier, the lighter the more casual. Instead of wearing them with tees, sweatshirts, sweaters -- the regulars -- try pairing yours with kitten-heeled sandals and a delicate camisole for a glam look. Or try a customized tank, stiletto boots, and a big cuff for a punkish vibe. It's all about expressing yourself.

Thick belts.  A must for fall. Looks great low slung with a pair of hipsters or a little denim skirt, adds a certain freshness to a floral-printed skirt or around the waist of a slip dress (knee length or longer), and is just downright cool! It can be a basic leather, bright suede, preppy grosgrain ribbon, or army-inspired web - it's up to you!

Casey is a real, fashion-forward teenage girl who loves clothes (and describes her own look as "trendy prep")  If you want to ask her a question, post it to the Fashion Forum under "Teen" and put "Ask Casey" in the Subject line.
