Buy Now, Wear Later

Friday July 18, 2008
suzi chin dressMy mother can buy new clothes and keep them in her closet (which is perfectly colorized, by the way) until the right occasion comes along.

I'm more of a buy now, wear now kinda girl except for when it comes to pre-season sales like the Anniversary Sale at Nordstrom It's just such a great opportunity to buy the newest fall looks, like this faux two-piece dress (Buy Direct: Suzi Chin Maggy Boutique Silk & Crepe Dress) which looks like a bow blouse and pencil skirt but it's really all one piece. It comes in the hottest color for fall (blue) and features a hammered silk material for the top and stretch crepe for the skirt. During the sale it's just $104.90, compared to $158.00 after August 4 when prices go back up. (Photo Credit: Nordstrom)

Your mom and I would get along great! My closet is organized by color, too, and I’d rather find an occasion to wear something than find something for a specific occasion. I buy what calls to me when it calls to me — and it seems to work.

How can you buy over the internet? That would never work for me! I recently went back to work after staying home with my new baby for almost a year, so I needed new pants. I tried on around 20 (yes, 20!) pairs before buying 2… They are not an ideal fit, but at least they’re OK. And it’s not that I have an unusual figure. I’m 165cm tall, that’s 5′6″ for you Americans, yet I couldn’t find anything fitting in normal sizes and ended up buying “petite”. What gives? I am 33, and never had to buy “petite” before. I don’t think I shrunk from having a baby. :-) It’s just that sizes are all over the place… :-(

Buying w/o trying on would never work for me… And I’m not unique in this.

yes.this is a good idea :buy first and wear later.buy the clothes out of the season ,wait for the next one.But there is a dengerous is the style and pattern will can’t keep up the next season’s fashion.so we should choose the ordinary and popular clothes.

This is for Irene, and all others who don’t shop on the internet. I shop QVC all the time. You have 30 days to try whatever you buy. I rarely send anything back. They have a size chart to help you and their quality is fabulous. I have gotten so many unique items that I’ve never seen on anyone. Try it. You really have nothing to lose.
