One of my pet peeves is a visible bra strap hanging out of a sleeveless top (and, I'm sorry, but clear bra straps don't cut it either.) Bra straps slipping down a shoulder don't look cute or sexy, just sloppy. So I love the idea behind this little plastic disc from Embrace. It's called The Bra Strap Solution and it turns a regular bra into a racerback bra. Presto! No straps hanging out. Love it. (Photo Credit: Embrace)

I am so with you on the bra strap thing. Yes it looks very tacky having your bra straps hanging out. I have another solution for those straps. Try decorative bra straps from Strappys. They look more like jewelry on your shoulders and they can dress up anything.
Why not just buy racerback bras???? I’m pretty well-endowed and if I can find them, surely others can!
Strapless bras wok for me and do the same thing. Every lady should have a few of these anyway….
I think this is an excellent solution for all those unsightly straps peeping at us.
I bought something like this at Shecky’s a few years ago, but it looked slightly different and it was a different brand. It was hard to put in place. The saleswomen must have practiced it many times, because they made it look very easy (wearing a bra on the outside of their shirts, and putting in the thing while they were wearing the bra. It’s so much easier to just buy a racerback bra.
I got a couple last Spring and learned that in France a racer back T-shirt is called a T-shirt Americain – whaddya know! As if we invented it just for sport!
Personally I don’t think there’s anything wrong with bra straps showing, as long as they’re neat and clean then they’re not ‘unsightly’or ‘tacky’.
Granted, half your bra on display is not acceptable, but simply the straps under a strappy top is fine in my opinion.
As for the strapless/racer-back bras – i’m a size 30G student with a low budget, and frankly, finding ANY bra that fits well is hard enough!
although many people here in europe have their bra straps show, ifind it extremely tacky… i do not find racerback bras comfortable, and i guess there are so many nice clothes to wear that i do not have to wear things that show my straops..
Showing straps is tacky but you can solve this by wearing decorative bra straps. They hook to any convertible bra or strapless bra that has the inserts for hooks. The best place I have found is STRAP MY BRA they have a lot of cute ones. I have to wear a bra and the strapless always fall. With these straps the bra stays up and the straps make any outfit look good.
I am a bit biased but have you seen straptrap.co.uk. You need to stitch them in but they work

I hate seeing people walking around with old bra straps showing. I’ve recently bought 8 pairs of plain colored detachable straps, now I have bra straps that match the tops I wear, so I’m not bothered if they show. Am I the only one who is OK with exposed bra straps?
There isn’t always a solution for everyone, and they’re just straps! You know that they’re wearing a bra in the first place, so who cares about a bit of evidence? Slutty; maybe for the 30+ age group, but for the rest of us, I think it’s perfectly fine.
So just deal with it. Because it isn’t going away any time soon, no matter how much you protest online.

I didn’t really care about bra straps showing so much, but I really like the pretty ones! I wear them every day and they are totally comfortable. How about an 11 year old girl in a pink halter top with black bra straps.
I told the mother it was inappropriate and she should go without the bra – the kid does not have enough to worry about braless.
The kid did not dress herself her mother thinks this is okay.
The mothers attitude is that is the fashion – so what is the problem. My take is just because everyone else dresses trashy doesn’t make it okay. What about boys with their pants around their knees.
Of course this started a huge fight but I am curious what people think about an 11 year old with her black bra straps hanging out of a pink halter top. She looked like white trash.
