Stella McCartney to Produce Line for H&M

By Cynthia Nellis, About.com

Stella McCartney is the latest designer to sign up for a one-time run with retailer H&M.

The English designer, who has a eponymous line with the Gucci group, will produce "Stella McCartney for H&M" line that is a one-time collection available at select H&M stores across Europe and North America in November '05.

The first designer to do a one-time line for H&M was Karl Lagerfeld (Chanel) who produced a popular fall '04 line.

Stella McCartney gained her first fashion fame designing for Chloe. In addition to dressing famous friends like Gwyneth Paltrow, Stella McCartney designed Madonna's wedding dress for her 2000 nuptials to Guy Ritchie.

H&M has 1,100 stores in 21 countries and is known for bringing runway-fresh looks to retail at very affordable price points.
