Anne Hathaway wore one of the best dresses of the night: a black Giambattista Valli with sheer overlay. Black dresses were a major trend of the evening with many celebrities wearing versions that had slits (like Claire Danes in a fabulous one-shoulder Givenchy gown with print-accented slit) or sexy sheer inserts. Some of the dresses featured heavy embellishment like appliques and Jane Lynch even braved a bondage-look gown. Tina Fey wore a pretty strapless black gown that was accented by a belt.
