With all of the red dresses on the red carpet during the 80th Academy Awards it was the hands-down trend of the night.

Heidi Klum swept in wearing it first in a dramatic Galliano gown that is destined to be given away in a sweepstakes to raise awareness about women and heart disease.

Anne Hathaway looked radiant in a rosette-trimmed Marchesa dress she off-handedly referred to as "diaphanous chic" to E! Even Miley Cyrus (E!'s Ryan Seacrest said she was probably the most famous person there that night, and he's right) wore a simple red Valentino.

Doing what she does best -- classic Hollywood glamour -- Katherine Heigl with her Marilyn Monroe hairdo looked great in her one-shoulder red Escada.
