International journalists, buyers and "It" girls got an early glimpse at the newest trends for next season, as New York's Fashion Week, Spring 2001 Sept. 15-22.

The good news is that (as usual) there's something for everyone and plenty of faves make an encore appearance.
Ruffles, flowers, gold and asymmetry are just a few of the trends that continue. Femininity is still the major influence and colors like lilac, red and all shades of blue are strong. Influences from the '80s are everywhere, as fashion takes a lighthearted approach to fashion again.
Here's a quick look at a few of the themes.
What cleavage?
Cut-to-there dresses look merely ho-hum next to the new erogenous zones. Derrieres, backs
and necks take center stage with strategic cutouts, tie-backs, cowl necks and bold
flowers.
