While Hilary Duff went prom queen on us in a sweet cotton candy pink dress and matching heels (hasn’t she heard it’s a little early for prom?), teen rival Lindsay Lohan looked completely hip in her powder blue mini dress and pumps, accessorized with a classy Chanel purse.
A very svelte Kelly Osbourne was a total bombshell in a diamond-adorned black strapless dress and shawl.
Evanescence’s Amy Lee designed the funky black-on-pink bondage dress she wore, while fellow DIY-er Amber Tamblyn sported a hand-sequined “Rock The Vote” tee, paired with cool pinstriped trousers and beaded earrings. A little caz, but still cute.
Sting’s trend-setting daughter Koko made her green carpet debut in a fabulous super-short Chanel shift and knee-high suede boots. A quirky hot pink satin bow tied just above her knee completed the look. Very creative.
Dazzling Divas
Beyonce was a showstopper from beginning to end.
The slinky gold gown designed by her mother was perfection, while her hot pink frock was the highlight of the opening performance (well, my highlight, anyway).
The crystal-trimmed gown worn during her solo show was absolutely elegant. My only complaint? Her wedding finger was lacking bling!
Alicia Keys stepped out in a gorgeous peaches & cream Roberto Cavalli gown worn over – gasp! – stylie silk jean-style capris. Sticking close to her style, Alicia sported a beautiful blue confection, again worn over jeans for her fabulous performance.
Fellow R&B princess Ashanti looked very glam in a noticeably similar, peach-colored Roberto Cavalli gown.
Though she did look good in her L.A.M.B white-with-black sailor pants and coordinating flirty top, Gwen Stefani just wasn’t her usual stunningly creative self. Her adorable L.A.M.B.-bedecked niece, however, totally made up for it!

The dress-over-pants combo was a craze (Queen Latifah looked HOT in her leather pants + flowy gown). Though it may seem hard to pull off, follow the steps of these glamour girls and pair a lightweight dress over tough – but still sleek – pants. For an easier take on the trend, favorite jeans & tee ensemb with a flirty skirt.
Leave the silver in your jewelry box. This year it’s all about gold!
Kelis and Beyonce both donned glittery gold gowns, while Joan Rivers managed to (semi)impress in a pair of amazing gold chandelier earrings.
