Gab: Fashion Police controversy
"But the funny thing is me and my friend bought these pads with printed slips with
Fashion Police at the top. Whenever we see someone with a severe problem we grap (sic) our
pads, fill what their offence (sic) is and then hand it to them (or stick it on them if
they're walking past). It's such fun! Hehehe!" -- JETBLACK44
"When the 'Fashion Police' start handing out citations...You start imposing your standards on others. That sounds pretty opressive (sic) to me....everyone is entitled to an opinion, and everyone is entitled to keep it to themselves. -- THATSO
The newest installment of "Fashion Police" photos on the site shows style victims on the streets of New York.
Style Snippet: Holiday shopping
secrets
I may be an expert shopper, but that doesn't mean I want to spend every waking minute of
the holidays buying gifts. So I have secrets for streamlining online and offline shopping.
Here are my tips for buying fashion gifts:
1. Pick a theme for all of the apparel you're giving. If you stick to one general category
(leather, sweaters, jewelry, outerwear, etc.) you'll be able to focus on shopping in
certain stores, departments and sites, instead of skipping around too much. This doesn't
mean you have to give everyone the exact same thing. There's plenty of room for variety,
for example, in a category like outerwear: mom gets a cashmere shawl, dad gets a golf
jacket, the kids get parkas, the husband gets a leather jacket.
2. Stores that do three-tailing -- catalogs, stores and websites -- are your best bet. Not
only will you benefit from extensive assortments, labels and sizing, but returns are
usually easier. Try Lands' End,
or JCPenney, .
3. Aim for one great garment, rather than trying to put together whole outfits. Put your
effort and money into buying the perfect luxe sweater or leather jacket instead of trying
to coordinate head-to-to ensembles.
4. Don't get too hung up on labels. Unless you've got a Ralph or Tommy fanatic in the
family, chances are that most recipients won't care about who made the garment. Look for
quality, fit and thoughtfulness as the hallmarks of a great apparel gift instead.
5. Remember that a true fashionista will probably want to pick out his or her own clothes.
Send cash or a gift certificate if you really want to make a fashion lover happy.
