Think the only way to look
adorably boho is a peasant shirt, a bit of shoulder and lots of attitude?
Well, try these new takes on this hot, new trend:
Mix it up with a cute circle
skirt
Eyelet, lace, three-tiered, cotton - there are tons of styles of this must-have skirt for
summer and all of them have a free-spirited feel to them. Dress it down with flip flops
and a simple tank, or go dressy with kitten heels and a girlie-detailed camisole or
corset-top. (left, Chompol Serimont)
Wear with denim to tone it down
Mix a femme lace-trimmed camisole with tough raw-hem jeans or a flirty, flowing blouse
with a distressed denim mini. Throw on denim accessories (hat, shoes, bag) with a
pure-pretty ensemb to add a funky edge. (right, BCBG)
Peasant tops are very easy to wear
A sheer, neutral-colored peasant top could be worn with nearly anything. With distressed
jeans and Birks, the look is relaxed and hippie. With dark denim and a thick black leather
belt, the look is urban and hip. (left, Candies)
Throw on a "vintage
fabulous" accessory
The right hip hat (newsboy, wide-brim, cowboy), vintage belt (tooled, suede, distressed,
fringed, skinny, wide), and jewelry (turquoise, antique-ish silver, dangling earrings) can
make any simple outfit terribly chic or trendy. (left, Smashing Grandpa; right, Union Bay)
Adorn with girlie details for a
glam look
A little touch of sequins, rhinestones, lace, or ruffles can make anything look so much
prettier. Smaller doses are always better (tough rocker babe is so last year),
but if you pull it off right, you'll look romantic and edgy. (left, BCBG)
