2002 Dallas Fashion Awards Winners Announced
The 27th annual Dallas Fashion Awards (DFA) winners were announced Saturday, Oct. 26 at the International Apparel Mart.
The DFA winners are:
- Eric Javits Hats (Accessories)
- Mori Lee (Bridal)
- Chicken Noodle (Childrenswear)
- Seven (Contemporary)
- Oscar by Oscar de le Renta (Designer)
- Joseph Ribkoff (Dresses)
- Nick and Nora (Intimate Apparel)
- Dian Malouf (Jewelry)
- Nally & Millie (Junior Contemporary)
- Barry Bricken (Menswear)
- Scala Eveningwear (Prom/Pageant)
- Casadei (Special Occasion)
- Christine Phillipe (Sportswear).
In addition, In Style magazine was presented with a Fashion Excellence Award by designer Narciso Rodriguez and actress Sela Ward.
Dallas Market Center vice president of special projects Mike Mullins and The Dallas Morning News fashion editor Tracy Achor Hayes presented the Special Achievement Award to Brighton. Accepting for Brighton were president and owner Jerry Kohl and director of marketing and sales Laura Young.
In addition to the awards, a runway presentation featured denim jackets donated by Levi-Strauss and specially transformed by Dallas Fashion Awards finalists and celebrities. The jackets were sold through silent auction along with an array of fashion accessories provided by the Fashion Group International (FGI). Proceeds from the denim jacket auction benefit DIFFA.
