From Mila Kunis' flowy lilac gown to Gwyneth Paltrow's sleek metallic dress, there was something for everyone with the Oscars dresses this year. One thing that prevailed, however, was the general idea that "Less is more," especially in the jewelry department. And while some stars -- like Halle Berry --went with over-the-top girly looks, minimal looks -- like on Jennifer Lawrence -- looked very sexy and now. It seems we’re almost opposite in our best and worst choices.
I agree on Michelle Williams, but:
Jennifer Lawrence’s red dress was BORING. Best silhouette??? Please! it looks like a very VERY long tank top!
Cate Blanchett was lovely, nothing “gladiatorial” about her.
Scarlett Johansson dress was actually quite cute, but needed much better selection of undergarments. The hair was a disaster, I agree with you here.
Mila Kunis was boring. The colour (yes, I am Canadian, and this word IS spelled with a ‘u’) looked almost like a bruise; and way too busy: lace, frills. Ugh.
Helena Bonham Carter actually looked awesome. And her look is not “romantic”; it’s Goth (Gothic?) – not the same thing!
Halle Berry’s gown was pretty, but a bad choice for her skin tone! Makes her look waxy, like a figurine in Madame Tussoud museum.
Gwyneth Paltrow – boring. And bad make-up too.
I also feel that Melissa Leo’s dress was beautiful. I loved the high collar was lovely and so age appropriate. I am tired of so many strapless gowns. I also thought that Jennifer Lawrence’s dress was just a long t-shirt.
