So last Fashion Week I noticed that loads of fashionable girls were wearing turbans and head wraps, both on the runway and off.
Now, I see the turban trend is trickling over to celebdom, with the likes of Salma Hayek wearing one (photo, left.)
While I certainly love the drama of headgear of any type, and recognize the utility of the headwrap for both religious and health reasons (to cover hair loss), I am not sure that the turban as a fashion statement is going to be something I'll try. You?

I wouldn’t wear any of those shown but there are many others with a more flattering design. They go down over the ears and the center front is gathered up making a leaner look. I hope they do catch on as they are great in any weather and for a bad hair day. It’s very easy to make your own with very little material or cost.
My beautiful petite mother used to wear a black turban in Southern California in the 1950’s! She wore brown alligator shoes and handbag in the 1960’s! I remember how beautiful and chic she was in that turban…and it wasn’t worn to cover unkempt hair! She was born and raised on a farm in Nebraska, migrated to California, and what a fashionable
lovely woman. She also wore white Keds for casual until she died at age 84. Her beauty lives on.
Grotesque.
Simply stunning on the right person – classy!
Is it still considered “bad form” for a woman to wear hats after 6 P.M. ?
I think it’s chic….it just depends on how it is gracefully worn.I have one and I didn’t have the intention of wearing it on a bad hair day.
