Is it possible to change your entire look with just a simple pair of glasses? Celebrities -- from teenagers to middle-age moms (Demi Moore, we're talking to you!) -- are getting into geek chic by wearing thick black nerd glasses right now. The interesting thing about this trend -- like this summer's fedora-wearing craze -- is that it's caught on equally with boys and girls.
Nerd glasses have been around for a few years, building up steam. Although the nerd glasses trend can trace its roots back to the runways, I think two other influences factor in: first, there are some pretty fabulous fashionistas (like Brad from the Rachel Zoe show) who adopted the thick black rims (and way before him, beloved fashion editor Carrie Donovan.) The second influence is that all of us have gotten used to frequently wearing nerd glasses in the form of 3D glasses (or, I as I like to call them "Just another way to tack an extra $5 on to movie admission.")
You can buy high-end designer frames or pick them up for less than $10. See who is wearing nerd glasses and where to get a pair for yourself. Also check out my friend Julyne's beauty tips on how to wear your hair and makeup with nerd glasses. (Photo Credit: Angela Weiss/Getty Images)

Glasses can be a great accessory if you have a flattering pair and wear them on occasion. I don’t think they need to necessarily be nerd glasses, just a good pair of glasses.
Nerd glasses are huge fashion right now.one of the best ways to wear one is to have the hair worn in pony tail.
Those glasses are butt-ugly!!!! I’ve been wearing glasses since Grade 6 and I would NEVER wear these…bad enough I had cats’ eye glasses in black when I was 17!!! LOL!!!!
Nerd glasses? New terminology, I have always known these glasses as being called “birth control glasses”, enough said.
