I'm no Kim Kardashian, but I've got enough padding to know that the puffy skirt is not going to work for me. (Photo Credit: Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images)

Same for the puffy dress -- not gonna do it. (Photo Credit: Dario Cantatore/Getty Images)

What I am loving this season are all of the longer skirts, a) because it's new and b) because I'm tall enough to carry them off. I can see where shorter girls might want to modify the lengthy trend to flatter their shorter frames, but I can't wait to wear long slim skirts (I actually have a great black column skirt I've saved for 15 years waiting for the perfect come back.) Please tell me this isn’t a trend.
omg. the puffy dress would make a great Halloween costume as a bath scrubbie. Your date could wear a wide shoulder tux and go as a bar of soap.
I’ve saved as many of my long skirts as I could as well. I like the elegance of them but you can make them casually elegant.
Wasn’t that a trend in the 60′s? I like it on very think women, not a women with too much padding….LOL
Completely inappropriate.
if anyone like online shopping,i know a site http://www.koreanjapanclothing.com where sell pretty korean dand Japanese fashion clothing, just go and have a look!
The problem today is that women don’t trust what they like and usually what they like looks good on them. We are always looking to and asking what to do next and never dare go in a different direction as we used to when we had more confidence as kids and young adults.
In college we used to buy men’s Levi jeans as they were easy to find, inexpensive, well made and most importantly well cut. I still go into the men’s Levis department and amid the glares get great casual jeans well made with deep pockets for a fraction of the cost of “boyfriend jeans” all different fits and washes its amAzing and very stylish.
I went to the army surplus store to buy an orignal pea cost that still has the previous owners info chalked in the lining, its somewhat bulky but they’re supposed to fit that way and after all it is a winter coat a la Robert Redford. I love the clean lines, well made, value driven items of clothing and I will go anywhere to buy the orginal as opposed the the expensive cheap cut, tight hoochie version.
Annie Hall made menswear famous beacuse it looked good and it was well made and it had ease and stature. When you walked with great boots or shoes it wasn’t the height of the heel it was the fact that the sole was leather and the heel was well made and the sound that it made walking in a hall was like a great thoroughbred horse as the steps were strong and confident because the heels weren’t crazy high. That’s style and we all did it in the 70′s without taking a small loan. The clothiers were decently priced and the quality was there and the focus was more on the look as opposed to who made it.
I agree with mick about the puffy dress being good for Halloween, especially in that fleshy color; this poor girl totally looks like a loofah!
The long skirt is lovely, paired here with a casual, fittet top and a crossbody bag, truly a casual, carefree yet elegant look I will be going for.
ShaSha70′s – you are so right about so many things, the places to get the essential pieces, the prices, and the good quality footwear… aah, nostalgic moment here… And you nailed it with the focus on the look as opposed to who made it.
