If you've ever wondered if Fashion Week has some of the best-dressed women in the world, I'm here to tell you that it definitely doesn't. There are some very wacky dressers (like head-to-toe matchy-matchy crazy prints), some die-hard vintage devotees (I like a touch of vintage, but sometimes old stuff just needs to go in a trash bag) and some trendoids (who blindly follow trends without really knowing how to work them.)
And there's Mary Alice Stephenson. She's a stylist and a TV personality -- honestly I have never seen any of her work -- who I've seen front row in the tents for years and admired her style. It's clean-cut, elegant and distinctly American. She favors luxe looks over overtly trendy and relies on bold accessories to personalize her look (statement necklaces, cuff bracelets, chandelier earrings and cocktail rings.)
Here she is today at Fashion Week dressing in a great style that we can all copy: a pretty print blouse with a bow, black trousers and a long necklace. I think that's what I love about her look so much: it's easy for the rest of us to copy (although I doubt I can afford her high-end designer pieces, but I can find most of it for less.) I agree with that. Though most of us can’t afford exactly as what Malice is wearing, we can find most of it less. Thanks for sharing.
That’s something we all need to learn to do: find a style icon and copy their look without going broke.
