...is that while I love them, I am just not a dress girl. When I was a buyer, I liked buying the dress category; as a fashion journalist I love writing about dresses. But when it comes to wearing dresses, well, I just seem to gravitate to things like jackets and dark denim instead. And although for Spring 2010, designers are showing loads of dresses -- many of them very wearable, like this Ports 1961's shimmery peach shift -- I can't help but wonder if that's really the way girls want to dress right now. Especially during tough economic times it makes more sense to buy versatile separates than a dress that can pretty much only be worn one way. (Photo Credit: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images)

Dresses can be dressed up or down with accessories, not just jewelry and scarves, but belts, sweaters, jackets, tights and don’t forget shoes. You really can change the entire look of a dress with different accessories that you have to be wearing any way. One of the other nice things about dresses is that you have only one item to buy. Look in most catalogs and you’ll see that a dress is far cheaper to buy than pants or skirt AND blouse AND jacket. So it really is a recessionista way to dress.
I am absolutely agree with Cinthia from economic side is not so easy to buy a dress, and especially color dress, anyway lte me go to the next step2:)
why all the models from bcbg have to look so unhealthy? thats the reason all our teens have problems with selfimage..
I agree with Annette and dresses take up a loss less room in a closet. Just wish they weren’t mini skirt or shorter lengths. Real women want to look stylish too but without baring all of their legs. Most of us don’t have legs that look like the model’s legs. come on guys give us all a break.
