Why We Wear Black

I've heard lots of theories about why women like to wear black -- from the fact that it's slimming to the fact that it echoes the current depressing economic climate -- but none makes more sense than Bill Cunningham's version: women wear black because it is modern. The New York Times photographer, who does the fabulous "On the Street" series of real women around the city, says that we like to wear black because we're too busy to take time out to figure out complicated outfits. Black always looks chic and it's probably one of the most versatile colors to own. But you already knew that.

I wear black (mostly outer garments) because in the city, it disguises the daily city grime better than anything else.
Have an evening appointment but get swiped by a slushy cab on the way over? Can’t tell with black.
Well there are obviously different reasons why ppl wear black. to some it’s only one of the reasons and to others is a combination of reasons. I’d say its mostly the style that comes periodically. In Germany I realized black is much more in then in US for example. I just got my self a new black Seven Jeans
