6 Fashion Trends I'm Happy to Say 'Goodbye' To

Tuesday December 16, 2008
kelly bensimonThe worst fashion trends of the year all started out as a gleam in some designer's eye, but ended being so over-exposed and saturated that the mere thought of gladiators or maxi dresses left smart shoppers feeling cold. See which 2008 fashion trends I'm happiest to say goodbye to as we head into a new year. (Photo Credit: Stephen Lovekin/Getty Images)

The shootie
I actually think it’s the best thing that happened to shoes!
I can’t wear full length boots - they dont zip all the way… :(
and half length boots dont go with skirts
and you can’t wear socks with pumps
and I definietly pull off the shootie look so don’t diss it!

I love the maxi dresses especially the ones by Alicia and Olivia and Diane von Furstenberg because they exemplified feminity during the menswear craze, which itself is a hideous trend! And, from viewing Saks, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman contemporary world pages, the maxi dress trend will continue well into 2009.

Hate the SHOOTIES… Love the MAXI !!! Try a silky, sexy halter top with a long skirt for an intriguing mock maxi look.

I kind of still like the big scarves, but right now, almost January in Michigan, it’s almost a fashion must when our temperatures drop down to below 20, and much lower with wind chill factors below 0. But I also don’t get the folks who where them in L.A. or some warm climate where it’s over 80 degrees.

Sorry, that really should have been “wear” not where. Better activate my spell check.
