Fashion Words I Hate

Thursday December 4, 2008
Just when I thought fashion speak couldn't get any more annoying, the newest catch word -- recessionista (a girl who dresses well on a budget) -- starts popping up all over the place. It's already irritating to read blogs, magazines and press releases littered with must have and tres chic. And though I myself am guilty of the occasional overuse of chic (and once, after a long Fashion Week, I caught myself saying "I'm not feeling miniskirts") for the most part I try to avoid fashionese and talk in, like, you know, English. Here are some of the most overused (and hated) fashion terms.

Speaking of dressing well on a budget…and wearing the same kind of clothes the likes of Rachel McAdams and Kate Hudson wear…

Not trying to be rascist or anything but what about african americans and their little language they have going on? I can’t understand half the things they say when they talk.

Then again, the ‘white’ people for them have their own type of english.

It’s called jargon people. You should think about when your going to pick on people/blogs/magazines for using the same words because you use some kind of jargon pretty much every day.
