WWD.com asked that question of designers and got 35 sketches of proposed outfits to cover Michelle Obama's dress choices at the inaugural ceremonies. I hope she'll pick a New York-based designer like Michael Kors (love this one-shoulder blue dress) or Peter Som (the winter white cashmere is fabulous). And I really hope that she skips the dreadful dress Zac Posen sketched (what was he thinking?) and go with something grand like the Monique Lhuillier red dress. What do you think?

Some of the sketches were lovely. I think during the swearing in ceremony she should wear the winter white cashmere. For the evening festivities, I think she’d look lovely in the one shoulder blue dress.

The sketches are fabulous! My absolute favorite is the “Monique Lhuillier” red gown. I think Michelle would look grand in it. Please Michelle, this is the one!

Lord help us if the designer of the appropriate for a cross country stage coach rde dress isn’t baned from being a professional designer. It is an insult to all women in particular the previous good taste of our First Lady to be. Terrible terrible.

I liked the Blue one-shouldered Michael Kors dress, the Tracy Reece purple princess-seamed dress with brilliants on the bodice. And I also liked the Reem Acra red dress a lot – a little better than the Monique Lhuillier. I liked the black accents on the Acra gown.

Did anyone see the sketch by Oscar de la Renta for Michelle and the girls, i think its simply breathtaking.It has a simple touch but yet stunning especially for Michelle’s tall frame. for alternative, she could try the one-shoulder blue gown by Michale Kors.
She looks great in just about anything! My only request is to stop wearing beautiful dresses with bare legs. Wear Pantyhose!!!! Your legs will look so much better when you do! Not to metion your shoes will feel better on your feet. As future first lady, you will no doubt be setting some trends. So do it right!
