Haute News Flash: Viktor & Rolf for H&M

If the latest attempts to bring designers to the masses left you scratching your head (uh, who is Tara Jarmon and why is she designing for Target?), you'll love that H&M announced today that Viktor & Rolf will be designing a line of men's and women's clothing for the Fall '06 season.Fashionistas speak of Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren in breathless awe for their well-received modern takes on artistry and tailoring.
"If Haute couture is the most sublime form of fashion, H&M is fashion at its most democratic. Our roots are based in couture. It's the heart and soul of our work. But we also love to play with opposites: transformation is a key element of our signature style. For us, fashion is an antidote to reality. It's a great opportunity to communicate our vision with such a large audience of H&M devotee," say the designers Viktor & Rolf in a press release.
