Day Six: Fashion Week
Thursday February 9, 2006
I love Michael Kors! Not only did he send out classic American sportswear and dresses (like the chunky knit tunic dress, left), he had the best runway set-up at the tents. While many designers used a u-shaped runway (to fit people sitting in the middle) and let the models quickly walk the entire catwalk without stopping (makes for less-than-great photos), Michael Kors opted to have two separate runways.
His star-studded audience -- including Nicole Richie, Heidi Klum, Debra Messing and LeAnn Rimes. -- got a birdseye view of every look.Peter Som -- who I've been a fan of for several years -- has a great way of making classics like the cocktail dress (photo, right), knits and seperates look fresh and luxe.
