Day Four: Fashion Week in New York
Monday September 12, 2005
Yesterday we saw everything from new-to-the-tents Strenesse to fashion students' works from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. The themes are wildly different but there seems to be a continued interested in knee-length skirts and some embellishment. It's really too early in the collections to tell you exactly what Spring '06 trends are, so I'll hold off comment on that until everything wraps. Of course we found time for shopping again yesterday, this time in SoHo. Although we hit shops like Intermix and Bloomie's SoHo, we really loved the little boutiques with interesting finds. We saw lots of peasant skirts on the street, and a trend that Casey and I both dislike: cowboy boots. Women and girls are wearing cowboy boots with bare legs and this is one retro look we are just not feeling.
